TPI Polene Company Limited is one of Thailand’s leading manufacturers and distributors of cement and mortar products. Our company was established in 1987 and has been publically listed on the Thailand Stock Exchange since 1990. In our 31 years of operation, our product lines have expanded beyond basic cement and mortar products to include our innovative cement paint, which applies more easily, dries faster and bonds to surfaces more strongly than regular acrylic paints. Also, we’ve established an environmentally friendly manufacturing facility which uses Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) to produce organic fertilizers and other products.
Our international customer base covers a wide variety of different markets, including the domestic Thai market, Southeast Asia, North America, and Oceania. We prioritize professionalism and providing quality service to meet the needs of our customers by responding to their inquiries quickly and clarifying any concerns they may have. We spend a great deal of time providing further education to our customers on our product offerings, as many of them are new to purchasing from our brand. We make sure they know and understand the unique benefits each project has to offer.
Regarding quality standards, our cement products have all passed Thai Industrial Standard (TIS) quality testing, which ensures our products conform to international quality standards. Additionally, all of our products are tested for defects before distribution.
We are a relatively new supplier with less than a year of experience selling our products on Alibaba.com. However, our more than 31 years’ experience in offline sales gave us a distinct advantage towards integrating our services with online platforms. One of the key benefits we received from Alibaba.com was the ability to increase our exposure to new target customers that purchase construction-related products through on online shopping. More and more of our products are reaching new customers.
Our proudest achievement was being listed at the top of the Alibaba.com search rankings for our category without paying for any extra promotional material or ads. The training and guidance we received from the Alibaba.com team were instrumental in this achievement.
We have three features we would like to recommend other suppliers. First, we strongly recommend using the “Buyer Query with Views” feature. It identifies the specific keyword that drives the most traffic for each of a supplier’s products. This is very useful for us because it helps us understand whether we’re tagging our products with the right keywords.
Next, we want to recommend the “Hot Keyword” feature. This feature allows suppliers to search keywords that customers enter in the search bar. Before using this feature, we created our own names for products, which didn’t necessarily match the actual terms our customers used and led to lower sales. Using “Hot Keywords” increased our site traffic by helping us create better product names that match the commonly-used terminology of our customers. Finally, we also recommend using Alibaba’s “Keyword Optimization” feature for optimizing your existing keywords and building site traffic.
Our experience with Alibaba.com has been a learning curve. Many of Alibaba.com’s features are very useful for maximizing your capabilities. Our main advice to other suppliers is to take advantage of the site’s features to help modify your product names so they’ll be ranked more highly in search results. Start by finding the right names for your products first before you do anything else. We also suggest looking for as many ways as possible to provide assistance to your customers. Due to the nature of e-commerce business, potential customers are often still skeptical about our business and how we do things online. Therefore, we have to ensure that we are always available to assist with their needs.
We received a great deal of assistance from the Alibaba.com team via various channels, no matter whether it was via Trade Manager or through their online training sessions. We sincerely appreciate the helpo and hope the Alibaba.com team will continue to do a great job. The quality of our online posts on Alibaba.com has improved a lot.
As for suggestions, we recommend that the team create one specific communication channel for announcements. Currently, there are specific communication channels for certain apps, such as Dingtalk, while Trade Manager and other features do not include this feature.
