David Wei
Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director
David Wei has been chief executive officer of Alibaba.com since October 2007. He first joined Alibaba Group, the holding company of Alibaba.com, in November 2006 as president of the B2B business division and as executive vice president of Alibaba Group. He was elected to the Alibaba.com board of directors concurrently with his appointment as chief executive officer.
David was president, from 2002 to 2006, and chief financial officer, from 2000 to 2002, of B&Q China, a subsidiary of Kingfisher plc, a leading home improvement retailer in Europe and Asia. Under David's leadership, B&Q China grew to become China's largest home improvement retailer. From 2003 to 2006, he was also chief representative for Kingfisher's China sourcing office, Kingfisher Asia Ltd.
David served as managing director and head of investment banking for Orient Securities Co. from 1998 to 2000, and as corporate finance manager at Coopers & Lybrand, now part of PricewaterhouseCoopers, from 1995 to 1998. David holds non-executive directorship positions in HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited.
David was born in mainland China in 1970. He holds a bachelor's degree in international business management from Shanghai International Studies University and is a graduate of the corporate finance program at the London Business School.

Maggie Wu
Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director
Maggie Wu has been chief financial officer of Alibaba.com since July 2007. She was elected to the Alibaba.com board of directors in October 2007.
Prior to joining the company, Maggie was an audit partner at KPMG's Beijing Office. In her 15 years with KPMG, she was the lead audit partner on audits for the initial public offerings and annual audits of several Chinese companies listed overseas and provided audit, accountancy and advisory services to many multinational corporations.
Maggie is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Capital University of Economics and Business.

Elvis Lee
Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director
Elvis Lee has served as chief operating officer of Alibaba.com since February 2009. He is currently responsible for overseeing the company's international business operation, which covers website operation, sales and buyer service and development. He was elected to the Alibaba.com board of directors in May 2009.
Elvis brings over 17 years of sales and business-to-business marketing experience to the Alibaba team. Born in Taiwan, he first joined the company in 2000 and played an important role in the early development of Alibaba.com's international website and Gold Supplier sales function. Prior to his current position, Elvis has held several senior positions within Alibaba.com's Gold Supplier sales team, as director from 2000 to 2001, senior director from 2001 to 2002, vice president from 2002 to 2003, and senior vice president from 2004 to 2005. In October 2005, Elvis was named senior vice president of Alibaba.com's website operation and customer service organizations, and from November 2006 to June 2007 he was general manager of the company's international core business unit, overseeing the international website operation, Gold Supplier sales team and customer service organization.
Before joining Alibaba.com, Elvis worked for 10 years at a leading trade media company. He holds a bachelor's degree in marine engineering from National Taiwan Ocean University.

Deng Kangming
Senior Vice President and Executive Director
Deng Kangming is senior vice president of Alibaba.com, responsible for overseeing the company's human resources and administration functions. He is an expert in this field, with more than 17 years of experience working at multinational and local companies in China. He also supervises Ali-Institute, which was established by Alibaba.com to offer e-commerce education to the public and to develop the e-commerce sector. He was elected to the Alibaba.com board of directors in May 2009.
Deng Kangming joined Alibaba Group, the holding company of Alibaba.com, in July 2004 as vice president of human resources and has held various senior management positions within the Group, including vice president of human resources and administration for China Yahoo!, vice president of channel sales & marketing for China Yahoo!, and vice president of strategic business development for Alibaba Group. He moved to the B2B business division in November 2006.
Prior to joining Alibaba Group, Deng Kangming served as human resources director for several multinational companies including Microsoft China, Oracle China, Danone China, and Janssen Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson.
Deng Kangming holds a bachelor's degree in law from Fudan University in Shanghai and an international EMBA degree from Rutgers University.
