While McCain aide Douglas Holtz-Eakin claimed that the senator's legislative work in the U.S. Senate helped pave the way for the BlackBerry, McCain has reportedly downplayed the suggestion that he was responsible for the popular phone/e-mail gizmos. McCain, who has limited mobility in his arms due to war injuries, has said he relies on his wife to operate a computer. Obama, by contrast, has been described as a BlackBerry "fiend."
