Jet Plane
The Germans built the first jet plane in 1939. But it wasn't until World War II ended that the jet age would begin in earnest. In fact, McCain began his career on the A-1 Skyraider, a propeller plane. He quickly moved up to the A-4 Skyhawk, a light, quick attack fighter dubbed the "Bantam Bomber."
