The winner of 92 pro golf tournaments over a 50-year career, Palmer, 79, has been a business owner almost as long. Arnold Palmer Design, which he founded in 1972, has crafted 300 golf courses worldwide. Most notably, his course at Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando hosts the annual Arnold Palmer Invitational. His first experience in course design came in his youth at the country club in his hometown of Latrobe, Pa. "I drove a bulldozer and helped shape the golf course when we were building the second nine holes."
