A newcomer to the list, this Alexandria, Va. company has developed a specialty in flipping ships the U.S. Navy no longer uses to foreign governments. Its latest deal: selling the decommissioned U.S.S. Trenton to India (it's now that nation's second-largest naval combat vessel). VSE isn't just in the business of arming allies overseas. It gets roughly half of its sales from supplying U.S. armed forces with services and protective coatings for military vehicles in hot spots like Iraq and Afghanistan.
