Blackboard Jungle The story of one determined teacher struggling to turn around a failing urban school is practically a genre all its own, but it all started with Blackboard Jungle. Glenn Ford plays a teacher who butts heads with unruly students and an apathetic administration, in one of the first mainstream movies to take a frank look at racial tensions in America. The film is also credited with helping to jump-start the rock and roll craze, introducing the song "Rock Around the Clock" to a wide audience.
