Panasonic, a leading consumer electronics firm, said its Neo PDP and Eco PDP technology is providing its customers with superior TV experiences while allowing them to consume less power.
Abby Thomas, senior manager, consumer electronics department, Panasonic Marketing Middle East said: "Panasonic is dedicated to continuous innovation and environmental leadership that will ensure our products have a low ecological footprint.”
“Panasonic's approach involves developing Plasma products that not only use less power, but have a longer lifespan, clever power-saving functions and contain no lead or mercury, to reduce their overall impact on the environment,” he added.
Powering the new Panasonic Z1 TV is the company’s Neo PDP technology. The flagship 1080p plasma incorporates Wireless HD technology, VIERA Cast support, and a 54-inch panel.
At just one inch thick, Panasonic’s Neo PDP screens consume 50 per cent less power than normal, and have contrast ratios of 40,000:1 for deep blacks, said a statement.
Panasonic has also reduced the residual light in each cell of the screen to help with black levels. The new plasma screen technology has larger cells to emit more light at lower power, making the screen 50 per cent brighter than usual while consuming the same amount of power as before.
Panasonic further reinforces its commitment to bringing 'eco ideas' to life today with the launch of the Eco PDP VIERA Plasma Series. This TV series boasts an environmentally-focused design, ensuring lower power consumption, longer panel life, and ultimately lower impact on the environment, the statement added.
