Samsung has unveiled the latest addition to its range of light mobile computers with the N310 netbook, designed for people on the move.

The Samsung N310 is designed by Naoto Fukasawa, a leading international designer whose works have won more than 50 design awards in Europe, America and Asia. It is incorporated with cutting-edge technology and stand-alone design, according to a company spokesperson.

“The introduction of the N310 takes the mini notebook into a whole new dimension. Samsung N310 will play a significant role to show our strong focus and confidence of netbooks as a representative model in 2009,” said Madhav Narayan, general manager, IT division, Samsung Gulf Electronics.

The N310 enables optimum mobility with long-lasting battery powered performance of up to 5 hours, independent of any power supply. This vastly improved battery life is guaranteed by the LED display and optimised processing performance coupled with Samsung’s class leading engineering, he added.

Weighing 1.23kg (with a 4 cell battery) the N310 is also the lightest in its class. Its ultra compact 10.1-inch screen is also small enough to carry in a handbag. Despite its compact form, the N310 still includes a comprehensive range of connectivity tools, using a variety of advanced wireless technologies, including HSPA, mobile WiMAX, and WiFi.

The N310 also comes with 3-in-1 memory card reader, 3 built-in USB ports and optional Bluetooth 2.0+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate), which can be used to quickly transfer pictures, movies and data to and from virtually any modern camera, peripheral or audio-visual device.
