China Fabric Market Weekly (Nov 2-6, 2009)

Cotton fabric market warmed somewhat this week.

The sales of 100% cotton bed clothing fabrics kept good, and the prices inched up slightly. Printed 100% cotton bed clothing fabric C32s×32 68×68 150cm rose to5.2yuan/meter, C32s×32s 66×54 180CM to around 6.1yuan/meter, and twills C40s×40s 133×72 230CM to about15.6yuan/meter.

In addition, T/C twill and poplins, which were used to make trousers, and business suits, also enjoyed active trades in the domestic market. Twill T/C65/35 16S×12S 108×56 57" increased to around 13yuan/meter, T/C65/35 21S×21S 108×58 57" to about 11.3yuan/meter, and poplin T/C65/35 45s×45s 110×76 57" to about 6.1yuan/meter. Some T/C fabrics were embroidered or composited according to customers' requirements, to raise the added-value.

Recently, in Jiangsu, 100% cotton yarn-dyed fabrics saw favorable sales, and the prices also moved up a little. 100% cotton yarn-dyed fabric JC60S×60S 90×88 57" hiked by 0.1yuan/meter to 9.9yuan/meter, C40S×40S 133×72 57" to about 9.6yuan/meter, C32S×32S 130×70 57" (air-jet) to 11.2yuan/meter (air-jet) and 10.6yuan/meter (rapier loom).

On Oct 25-28, 2009 China Keqiao International Textiles, Fabrics&Accessories Exhibition was held at China Textile City International Convention&Exhibition Center. The scale of the exhibition was unprecedented with over 1300 booths. 107 exhibitors were from abroad. The number of professional purchasers reached 23998, up 17.3% compared with the last exhibition. The total turnover reached 4.436bln yuan, up 12.5%, from which we can see that the recovery of fabric market is evident.
