| Market Roundup | |||||
| With nylon chip prices hiking and the cost pressure increasing, nylon yarn producers felt urgent for higher prices. They raised offers in succession, mainly for POY and FDY. The traded prices followed up in smaller paces, with the performance of FDY comparatively better. | |||||
| For higher-grade POY products, offers were lifted by 500yuan/mt. Higher-grade POY86Dtex/24F was quoted to 19300-19500yuan/mt, against the traded prices at 18600-19200yuan/mt; the higher-end prices still need time to be digested. Lower-grade POY prices also trended firm. Offers for lower-grade semi-dull POY86Dtex/24F moved up to 18200-18500yuan/mt, against the traded prices ranging at 17800-18500yuan/mt and ruling at 18000-18200yuan/mt. | |||||
| FDY producers pushed up the prices step by step. Offers for semi-dull FDY70D/24F dominated at about 20000yuan/mt with the determined lowest indications no lower than 19500yuan/mt; the traded prices followed up to 19300-19600yuan/mt. Dull FDY prices also hiked. Offers for dull FDY70D/24F ascended to 20800-21000yuan/mt, and the traded prices to 20000-20700yuan/mt. Fewer transactions were done at the lower-end. | |||||
| DTY prices basically remained flat this week, but the previous lower prices thinned from the market. Some producers revised up offers by 500yuan/mt, but failed to be accepted in transactions. Medium-grade semi-dull DTY70D/24F still stayed at 20500-21800yuan/mt with rare trades done at the lower-end; the higher-grade dominated at 22000-22500yuan/mt. Medium-grade semi-dull DTY 30D/12F ruled at 27000-2750yuan/mt; the higher-grade was at 27500-28500yuan/mt,and a few lower at about 26000yuan/mt.As the feedstock cost grew gradually, DTY producers were also eager for price increment. Most of them planned to revise up offers by 300-500yuan/mt, or higher this weekend or next week initially. | |||||
| Outlook | |||||
| Nylon chip prices have increased apparently and the cost pressure for nylon yarn producers largens considerably. The current inventory level of nylon yarns is still low, at 12-15 days, and the sales/output can be balanced, which set a good base for the prices to go higher. It is predicted that nylon yarn prices will gradually move up next week, including DTY. | |||||
