With "Lead Casual Fashion Trend to Promote Development Together" as the theme, the 9th China Casual Wear Expo (CHCW 2008) was grandly held at Zhongshan Expo Center from Oct . 16 to Oct. 19. The Expo was sponsored by Zhongshan Municipal People's Government, organized by Zhongshan Shaxi Town Government and Zhongshan Economic and Trading Bureau, and assisted by Shaxi Garment Chamber. The four days' demonstrations and events have proved the position of CHCW among brand expos in the industry and its important influ ence as the leading professional expo for casual wear in China.
The Expo has yielded distinguished business fruits, and achieved multi-benefit for exhibitors, professional buyers, sponsors and organizers. Taking full advantage of the inherited characteristic of profession, the Expo gathered so many famous brands, among which there were more than 10 national famous brands and trademarks. The trade volume of this Expo reached 7.438 billion Yuan, an increase of 10.26% compared with that of last year. After the opening ceremony, some buyers from Italy and Spain, due to their strong interest in exhibitors, even didn't attend the reception held by municipal government and went all the way to visit exhibitor's factories, such as Lihongfa Clothing Industrial Limited, Tonvex Computer Embroidery Garment Factory, etc. and reached several cooperation agreements. Besides, buyers from many countries and regions actively participated in the commerce and trading activities, such as Australia, Malaysia, Canada, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, etc. Many buyers said that this successful CHCW provided a better cooperation platform for future business cooperation.In the environment full of disadvantageous factors, such as US f nancial crisis, RMB appreciation, constant rising cost, shrinking domestic market, etc., the garment industry in Shaxi is making progress. The successful holding of the Expo is suff cient to prove that the industry is conf dent in the perfect industrial chain and powerful processing and manufacturing capability of Shaxi.
Many professional buyer groups of large-sized department stores from more than 10 provinces and municipalities, such as Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, etc. came to visit the Expo and make purchases. Chambers from many places flooded to CHCW in groups, among which some were led by their own leaders. Guests swarmed into the Expo. According to statistics, this Expo had attracted 150,000 person-time visits from overseas and domestic guests, an increase of 13% compared with that of last year. The professional level of visitors and large scale of this Expo made it surpass all previous expos in these respects.
With Chinese Casual Wear Industry—Revolution and Breakthrough in the New Economic Environment as the theme, industrial association leaders, economists and specialists for fashion and brand research brewed up a brain storm on the important topics, such as "Market Decision Strength in Channel Exploration", "New Marketing of China Casual Wear Garment Businesses", "In the New Competition Environment, How to Learn f rom the Market ing Measures of World Famous Brands", "Resource Integration of Industrial Cluster Advantages in the New Competition Environment", etc., which brought a feast of thoughts for all participants. Jiang Hengjie, Executive Vice Chairman of China National Garment Association pointed out that the key to the way out for Chinese Casual Wear industry lied in quality assurance, design
innovation and prompt response. Based on the reality of Guangdong garment industry, Guangdong Garment Industry Seminar on Learning, Research and Production is aimed to fnd the excellent mechanism and model for the cooperation among learning, research and production, gather and integrate technical innovation elements, as well as establish strategic system of technical innovation for regional industry, so as to upgrade the competitiveness of garment industry and further promote its development.
"Dancing Phoenix in the Heaven" was dancing with new casual fashion rhythm. Song and dance performance with clear rhythm and famous models' wonderful interpretation of fashion vividly demonstrated the brilliant image of Shaxi Casual Wear industry and praised the new era sprit of the people in the town—brave, ambitious and gracious. Under the brilliant radiation of Chinese opera which was full of Chinese characteristics and modern elements, the fashion show for honor brands—Beauty beyond Shaxi, presented the distinctive style of brand garment, which looked like a delicious spiritual feast, with the beauty of brand flowing beyond Shaxi and filling the heart of everybody.
The industrial specialists at the Expo highly praised the Expo for its high- level presentation, tremendous varieties and excellent quality of casual wear, so did the merchants who came to the Expo for business cooperation. The Expo has obtained sponsors from many businesses, not only in garment industry, but also other industries, such as real estate, telecommunication, water supply, etc. All these proves that more and more businesses has realized the advertising effect and potential business opportunities brought by CHCW.
