Lenovo names Saudi country sales manager

LenovoLenovo, a worldwide leader in the PC market, has appointed Ahmed Abdelaal as the new country sales manager for Saudi Arabia.

Abdelaal, who has extensive experience in the IT business, will focus on bolstering the foundations of Lenovo's enterprise business in the kingdom as well as ensuring growth and market share acquisition.

'Saudi Arabia is one of the fundamental markets in the region in terms of opportunity and stability, providing huge opportunities for growth. The ongoing infrastructure projects and government support to IT development such as the e-government initiatives provide us with a great opportunity to expand our business and increase our market share,' said Khaled Kamel, general manager, Lenovo Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan.

According to Business Monitor International, Saudi Arabia has the biggest IT market in the Gulf region, with a value of $3.4 billion in 2009 and expected to rise to $5.6 billion by 2013.

Ahmed Abdelaal joins Lenovo with over 16 years experience of extensive sales, project and people management roles, holding successful positions at international IT firms across the kingdom.
