Aug. 18, 2009 (China Knowledge) - China Mobile Ltd<0941>, the country's largest telecom operator, and Dell Inc, the world's second-largest PC maker, are jointly developing mobile devices, a spokesman for the computer maker said on Monday, sources reported.

Dell said only that it is developing mobile products for China Mobile's network that will include a new handset called the Mini3i. The handset will offer access to a full complement of music, games and other downloadable content.

The PC maker did not comment on the timing of the release of any new products.

China Mobile's spokesman Rainie Lei said Dell's Mini3i handset will support the services offered in its newly-launched online application store, the Mobile Market.

China Mobile Monday opened its Mobile Market online application store to offer services, including games, music and videos, to its 500 million users. The store, which is similar to Apple Inc's AppStore and Nokia Corp's Ovi, is the first mobile application store to be launched by a carrier.
