Canon Middle East, a leader in digital imaging technology, has launched the Canon Security and Cost Control Pack, a new software solution specifically designed for SMEs and small departments.
Users can securely print and retrieve jobs at networked devices with this application installed, regardless of the original print destination.
For the first time, organisations can achieve this flexibility of print without a print server. In this way, the Canon Security and Cost Control Pack promotes security and print efficiency in smaller organisations without the need to invest in sophisticated output management solutions that are advanced beyond their needs and therefore costly.
Smaller organisations can now affordably achieve a level of document control which is commonplace in large corporations. By installing the software directly on the print device rather than requiring a print server, there is no outgoing fee related to buying and maintaining a server.
Organisations can also improve cost-recovery by giving administrators visibility over how the device has been used and by whom. This ensures that device expenditure can be monitored via a web-browser or email reports to tackle areas for improvement.
Canon has launched its Security and Cost Control Pack to empower SMEs with increased device functionality on Canon MFPs. The pack will be available as an add-on for new customers and can also be provided as an upgrade for existing customers. This enables organisations that have up to five MFPs to benefit from the enhanced visibility of costs and added document security.
“Now more than ever, organisations are looking at ways to cut down on unnecessary print jobs and ensure tight cost management – while keeping their information secure,” said Audai Altaie, senior product manager, Canon Middle East.
