TAIPEI, June 10 - Taiwan stocks opened 1.0 percent higher on Wednesday to reverse a one-month closing low the previous session, with UMC <2303.TW> leading gains after posting a 9 percent increase in May revenue from April.
The main TAIEX share index <.TWII> opened 64.07 points higher at 6,478.46, after having come under heavy selling pressure this week losing 6 percent of its value.
UMC was up 2.82 percent, outperforming the broader 54-member semiconductor sub-index's <.TSII> 2.29 percent advance.
