Economic and Cultural Exchanges between Shaanxi and Taiwan Become More and More Dynamic

As relations across Taiwan Straits become more and more dynamic, the number of Taiwan visitors to Shaanxi province is becoming larger and larger in recent years. Economic and cultural exchanges between Shaanxi and Taiwan become more and more dynamic. According to the statistics, the annual people exchange between Shaanxi and Taiwan reaches 100 thousand.

Data from Shaanxi Office of Taiwan Affairs shows that by the end of the year, there are altogether 750 enterprises funded by Taiwan investment in Shaanxi province. The total amount of investment reaches 1.93 billion dollars, Taiwan investment in use is 1.34 billion dollars. A series of important projects funded by Taiwan investment such as ‘Kangshifu’, ‘Wangwang’, ‘NM Technology Park’ and ‘Xinhualihua’ have been carried out in Shaanxi province. Meanwhile, the Export-import Trade with Taiwan is also experiencing a gigantic growth.

It is said that in recent years, Shaanxi has been inviting people from Taiwan to take part in important economic and trading events such as ‘China East-West Region Co- operation.lnvestment&Trading Fair’ and ‘Agricultural Hi-Tech Fair’ so as to expand the cooperation area and to raise the cooperation level. Shaanxi province has successfully hosted a series of events such as ‘Travel to the west by a thousand Taiwan merchants’, ‘Taiwan Food Exhibition’, ‘Recommendation of Taiwan Famous Enterprises’, ‘The 2nd Across Strait Enterprise Development and Cooperation Forum’, and ‘Across Strait Agricultural Cooperation’, and has greatly promoted the economic and trading development and cooperation between Shaanxi and Taiwan.

In terms of communication and exchanges, Shaanxi keeps on raising the level of communication and exchanges level between Shaanxi and Taiwan by resorting to its advantageous status as the important cradle of Chinese history and culture. Apart from inviting Taiwan friends to participate in the ceremony of public sacrifice to the Yellow Emperor, Shaanxi province has also hosted more than 200 exchange events such as ‘Roots Exploration by Taiwan Compatriots’, ‘Sacrifice to the Yellow Emperor by Global Chinese People’, ‘San-Qin Tour by Compatriots from Counties in Taiwan’, ‘Across Strait Technology Forum’, ‘Across Strait University Forum’, ‘The Admiring Ceremony of Buddha’s Finger Relics in Taiwan)’,  and ‘Terracotta Warriors Exhibition in Taiwan’.
