Italy is looking at creating joint ventures with small and medium Indian enterprises in the fields of agro products, packaging and healthcare. This was stated by Roberto Toscano, Ambassadar of Italy to India at an interactive meeting organised by the PHD Chamber. Though Italy is regarded as a hub of fashion, culture and design, the country is an important player in the field of applied science, renewable energy and advanced technology. Nicolo' Tassoni Estense, counsellor (Economic&Commercial), Embassy of Italy disclosed that a number of Italian companies were in talks with Indian counterparts to form a joint venture in agro foods and packaging like pasta making, sorting fruit machines, etc.
The small and the medium enterprises that are the backbone of Italian and Indian corporate setup are ready for cooperation. Italy is interested in addressing the special needs of the small and medium enterprise in India. To increase trade between both the countries, the potential companies should form an association and visit areas known specifically in that particular trade and also attend specialised fairs where most business takes place, according to officials.
