2012 was a strong year for Musicnotes Inc. and the online sheet music retailer and publisher has hit a milestone for downloads already in 2013.
Total 2012 sales increased 23%, from $15.2 million in 2011, to $18.7 million, says Tim Reiland, Musicnotes chairman and CFO. He did not disclose other 2012 metrics, but notes that sales of digital downloads, loyalty club memberships and paid mobile apps all contributed to 2012 growth.
Earlier this month the company surpassed 15 million in sheet music downloads since launching Musicnotes.com in late 1999. The company says it sold more than 3.3 million downloads in 2012. Musicnotes is No. 495 in the 2012 Internet Retailer Top 500.
