Trust plays a big role when buying an expensive item like jewelry, so Jeff Corey, president of New England jewelry store chain Day’s Jewelers, figures it would help build trust if online consumers could get to know his employees before coming into his six stores. That’s the main goal in posting employee biographies to DaysJewelers.com-but a secondary goal is to move the e-commerce site up in natural search rankings.
Day’s has hired a staffer to handle web site content and she has been interviewing each of the company’s 140 employees and writing biographies that are being posted to the store locator section of the site. More than half the life stories are already posted to the site.
