September 10-The 7th Netrepreneurs Conference&The 6th West Lake Summit sponsored by Alibaba today raised the curtain in Hangzhou Great Hall. Alibaba Group Chairman and CEO Jack Ma and eBay President and CEO John Donahoe talked freely about their relationship of competition and cooperation.

Alibaba's Netrepreneurs Conference invited senior executives from the competing eBay, because in the opinion of Jack Ma, Alibaba and eBay are helping the same group of people from different perspectives, as eBay is in market outside of China, while Alibaba is in the domestic market. Jack Ma said: "We have the same dream, the same purpose, face the same group of SME clients, so I think the Conference will connect us. This is the case today, and even more so tomorrow. I believe Alibaba team and Taobao team are always cooperating with the eBay team, and I think in the future we will cooperate more closely. "

John Donahoe said he attended the Netrepreneurs Conference for two reasons. First of all, Ma is his good friend. Another very important reason is he wants to create a greater opportunity and make the cake bigger. In the opinion of John Donahoe, this is where the future development of the Internet and the success of the two companies lie. John Donahoe also said, eBay and Alibaba are competing in some places, but there is more cooperation between the two sides, which can cooperate to create more opportunities in the next five years.

According to John Donahoe, eBay and Alibaba signed a cooperation contract. Both sides could have a competition, but both sides realized that, in fact, cooperation could improve the user experience and realize win-win. John Donahoe said: "We believe that cooperation is better than competition, we have to constantly innovate to provide better services, and we can find a better way of cooperation, which is our responsibility and opportunity also."

Jack Ma agreed the views of John Donahoe. Jack Ma said many years ago he had a question, what kind of webpage "www" represents? Later, he found out it is actually three initials of win, win and win. The first win is for customers, the second for partners, and the third for oneself. If any one is the loser, then the other two have to lose, so it must be "WWW". The three wins can create a good ecological system and help find more partners. Jack Ma pointed out that if one always wants to defeat the competitor, he can do no good business, so we must think more of our customers, cooperation, and helping others.
