India imports large quantities of coal from South Africa

November 11 MetalBiz--India imported 2.4mln tons of coal from Richards Bay in South Africa in October, accounting for 35% of monthly totals of 6.7mln tons.

In September, the coal imports of Richards Bay in South Africa was 1.4mln tons, occupied 34% of coal imports totally.

India became a major coal import country of Richards Bay in South Africa in 2009, approximately occupying 22%-35% of monthly total export.

It is estimated that South Africa will export 60mln tons of coal in 2009.
