ArcelorMittal: China steel output not greatly threaten global market

"China steel production growth meets the domestic demand instead of exporting," LakshmiMittal stated in Handelsblatt published on November 3, 2009.
He thought that some signs showed that some China's steel mills will reduce their production in the four quarters, carrying out maintenance, which should keep down the output.
"The recent price slightly increases, and it suggests that price will start to re-rise after bottoming out," he said.
The global steel industry seems to gradually recover. "We think the worst phase has passed away, but the reviving speed will be slow," he added.
