Europe debar steel posts decline, demand not to turnaround within 2009

Nov. 2 MetalBiz--Debar in South Europe significantly dropped by 30 euro per ton, with few transactions. Now debar price is 320-340 euro per ton, lower 20-30 euro per ton compared to the net-using wire delivery price's 350-360 euro per ton. But compared to other products, debar demand is not strong, not too bad, Italy's debar demand is better than Spain.

In terms of exports, Spain's debar export price is 326 euro, around US $480 per ton (FOB), the net-using wire price is 347 euro per ton, around US $510 per ton (FOB).

It is expected that in November, scrap price will continue sliding especially in Spain area, which has the negative impact on debar price. And hence the period of time till the end of 2009, the debar demand from South Africa will also not get along.
