Jan.-Jul. EU's scrap steel imports down by 44.2% y-o-y

Oct. 28 MetalBiz--According to EU trade statistics data, during the January-July period of 2009, EU's 27 countries imported a total of 1.965mln tons, down by 44.2% year on year. In terms of the originated places, scrap imported from Russia was 601,000 tons, down by 55.2% on a yearly; scrap imported from Switzerland was 328,000 tons, down by 17.2% on an annual basis; scrap imported from America was 326,000 tons, down by 10.3% year on year.
