US to impose 12% tariff on two kinds of steel products from China

US to impose 12% tariff on two kinds of steel products from ChinaOctober 28 MetalBiz--According to the report from Bloomberg on October 27 (Eastern standard time), US Department of Commerce intends to impose a tariff up to 12% on the steel grating and steel strand imported from China, valued U.S.$269mln.

US announced 2 decisions on October 28, showing US side would support the application from Insteel, US Spring Wire and etc., believing manufacturers of the aforesaid steel products are accepting illegal subsidies from China's government.

US Department of Commerce said on October 28 that manufactures of steel grating will face 7.4% duties and importers of concrete steel strand will also confront tariff ranging from 7.5% to 12%.
 
The aforesaid announcement is just a preliminary decision and US Department of Commerce as well US International Trade Commission will decide finally. However, before the final decision, importers have to submit the preliminary tax to US Customs.

Both products are also facing the anti-dumping complaint at the same time.
