US steel inventory enjoyed a first growth since financial crisis

October 19 MetalBiz--Steel inventory in US metal service center reached 5.79mln short tons in late September, up 3% m-o-m over the end of August, but down 45.7% y-o-y. Since the finance crisis in August of 2008, US inventory enjoyed a first m-o-m growth.

US service center' s shipment amounted 2.56mln short tons in September, decreased 31.4% from the same period last year but increased 0.4% m-o-m from August, presenting  a rising for 4-consecutive-month. According to supplying days, the steel inventory in late September can satisfy 2.3 months, while that in the same period last year can supply 2.9 month and that in late August can provide 2.2 months' supply.

Till the end of September, the accumulative shipment in US service centre reached 22.40mln short tons, down 41.2% year on year.
