Oct. 14 MetalBiz--Deng Qilin, general manager of WISCO Group stated on October 13 that WISCO is negotiating the investment of 45mln euro in WPG's HawkNest iron ore project with Australia government. Previously the Australia Ministry of National Defence opposed to WISCO's co-exploiting HawksNest project regarding this iron ore project's location in the military penalty area.
Deng Qilin stated that WISCO has sent a working group and related department to communicate, and the local government expressed its support for the deal, WISCO is striving for the military understanding and tackle with it cautiously, till now there is no plan to mend the deal schedule. He also unveiled that WISCO's iron ore program in Madagascar has obtained the development approval from the local government, and the exploiting right bidding of this mine is carrying out. WISCO has started to consult about bidding issue, and the deposit of this project is around 580mln tons and it will be further explored, to put into production in around three years.
