Japan domestic scrap price sharply slid

Oct. 12 MetalBiz--According to the statistic of Japan Iron Resource Association, last week No. 2 heavy scrap price on average of steel mills in Kanto, Central and Kansai was 24,271 yen per ton (US$ 270/t), sliding by 3,117 yen per ton than a week ago, which is a slump for the straight two weeks.

Among them, No. 2 heavy scrap delivery price in Kanto was 24,667 yen per ton, sinking by 2,750 yen per ton than a week ago; that in Central was 23,080 yen per ton, gliding by 3,100 yen per ton than the prior week; that in Kansai was 25,067 yen per ton, slipping by 3,500 yen per ton than a week ago.
