Sep.17 MetalBiz--According to the data from Iran Customs, the country's billet and debar import presented the upward tendency. In April-August 2009, Iron billet import exceeded 2.04mln tons, up 39% year on year, and the debar import reached 361,000 tons, up 25% year on year. At the same time, the HRC import was at 820,000 tons and 254,000 tons of CRC.

Presently Iran bar import should pay 3% consumption tax and 15% duties, while 3% consumption tax on 4% duties also levies on flat production, which may mainly result in the increase of billet and coil plate import.
