Sep. 16 MetalBiz--According to the related source, in the recent days, the scrap supply in Tokyo Bay Japan tends to be tight, which led to No. 2 remelting scrap price in Tokyo Bay to hike to JPY 27,500-28,000 per ton.
At present, one scrap trade company offered the high price of No. 2 remelting scrap at JPY 28,500 per ton, and hence market participants thought this increase in price is mainly due to the influence of the holidays during September 19 to September 23.
The current high-grade scrap price at Tokyo Bay is as follows. The P&S scrap price is JPY 31,000-31,500 per ton, and the Shindachi scrap price is JPY 30,500-31.000 per ton.
