Sep.15 Metalbiz--The offers of debar from Japan to S.Korea maintained the high level, but the quotation from China continued to drop. The Japan's steel mills quoted 55,000 Yen per ton (CFR) to S.Korea, which is equivalent to 746,000 won per ton, a delivery in November. The price from China's Rizhao Steel was U.S.$505 per ton (CFR), and KS certification debar from Laigang was U.S.$520-530 per ton (CFR), which is equivalent to 640,000 won per ton, a delivery in October. The price difference of debar from China and Japan exceeded 100,000 won per ton.
Although the debar offer from Japan was higher than China, the contracts were more than China. Insiders of the industry in S.Korea said that most of Japan-made debar was KS certification products with good quality, therefore, the price and contracts were both higher than China.
