Sep.9 MetalBiz--Due the production cut of Sidor, a local steel mill in Venezuela, coupled with the fall in production of HBI, the iron ore output of Venezuela Ferrominera Orinoco(FMO)would be affected directly. The upper management personnel from FMO said that the production is expected to drop 33% and the ore fine output this year will decrease to 13.5mln tons.
It is learned that the production last year reached 20mln tons around and the output averaged 22mln-23mln tons in the previous years.
FMO said the export dropped as other mining enterprises, but it can make up by improving the export of pellet ore and Vale as well as Samarca also adopted the same method.
The pellet ore resource of FMO is limited and the company mainly satisfied the demand of local HBI makers.
