Sep. 9 MetalBiz--According to the statistics of Japan Iron and Steel Association, Japan imported 10,700 tons of stainless steel, up by 18.4% month on month. During the January-July period, Japan imported 60,900 tons of stainless steel.
On the other hand, Japan exported 110,500 tons of stainless steel, up by 27.1% month on month. It is mainly due to the increasing demand from Asian countries.
In July, S. Korea exported 8,152 tons of stainless steel to Japan, up by 23.2% month on month; Taiwan, China exported 963 tons of stainless steel to Japan, down by 5.9% month on month; China mainland exported 266 tons to Japan, up by 23.7% month on month.
