Germany steel industry may revive in 2010

Sep. 4 MetalBiz--Germany steel industry is likely to generally revive after sustaining the economic crisis. HansJuergenKerkhof, chairman of Germany Iron and Steel Economic Association on September 3 stated that, "I believe that the Germany's crude steel production will slightly rebound in 2010", the industrial situation will be improved in the second half of 2009, but it is early to return to the normal level.

Germany steel industry underwent the greatest recession after the World War â…¡this year. He said that the crude steel production this year will slide by 30%, to 31mln tons even 33mln tons. Previously Germany Iron and Steel Economic Association expected that the reduction will be over 25%. In the first sever months this year, Germany crude steel output glided by 41%. The yield of ThyssenKrupp and other leading enterprises tumbled to the level of 60's of last century. But, just like Japan, Russia, America and other large steel makers, Germany's crude steel output apparently rebounded in July. He expected that the Germany's crude steel production will revive in 2010, but not exceed 40mln tons.
