Shandong intends to build up regional coal trade center

August 6 MetalBiz--Shandong plans to build up a regional coal supply and demand service platform. Wang Liting, deputy director general of Shandong Bureau of Coal Industry recently revealed that Shandong is positively investigating and researching, and preparing for setting up a coal trade center, before this, Shandong is busy building up Shandong coal market network. After the coal trade center is established, a system combining the Shandong coal market network, Shandong coal trade center, Internet market, with spot market, perfecting inner-provincial coal operational mechanism, providing a market service platform for coal enterprises and business using energy. As introduced, this system is researched, and then Shandong will release specific advice and operation method according to the practical situation.

Shandong is one of the country's main coal-producing provinces, currently with 23.8bln tons of geological reserves, among them, with exploitable 8.1bln tons reserves, producing 140mln tons of crude coal per year; meanwhile, it is a big coal-consuming province, using around 240mln tons coal per year. As a large coal supply and demand, Shandong coal department had issued the relevant document in 2008 to found a coal economy operational mechanism to improve the quality of coal economy operation, to continue to build up a huge coal economy operational mechanism stressing production, transportation, storage, sales and consumption.
