China, Japan, S. Korea discussed steel imp & exp to deal with the influx of overseas steel

July 17 MetalBiz--On July 16, Wu Xinchun, vice secretary-general of the China Iron and Steel Industry Association, said that the Iron and Steel Institute including China, Japan and S. Korea are communicating the issue of steel imports and exports. This is also another measure made by steel authorities as for the foreign steel flooding into China after in June the Ministry of Commerce carried out anti-dumping investigations the import-oriented electrical steel originated in the United States and Russia.

Wu Xinchun expressed that, in terms of overseas steel pouring into China this year, except for anti-dumping investigation which is more stringent measures, the Iron and Steel Institute has also carried out positive communication. Among China, Japan, and S. Korea, the Iron and Steel Institute not only communicate, but also steel companies have had contact with each other.

Han Jianbiao, an insider showed that, till May this year, S. Korea exported a total of 1,565,900 tons of steel to China, and Japan exported 1,721,500 tons. The two countries are China's largest source of steel imports.
