Rusal to cut alumina production in July
Published: 26 Jun 2009 01:16:49 PSTJune 26 MetalBiz--Russian Rusal said that the company will cut alumina output at its Friguia plant by around 50% in July.
The plant is capable of producing 640,000 tons of alumina, with employee approximately 2,000. Influenced by the global economic recession, the alumina price has dropped by around 50% from its peak in last July.
The company's production will drop to 20,000 tons from 52,000 tons in the month.
