May 14 MetalBiz--Chinese steel export in April dropped slightly by 9% compared with last month, but it slid considerably by about 70% in comparison with the same period of 2008.
Meanwhile, China imported steel about 1.62mln tons in April, increased 39.7% from March, up 21.8% over last April.
China's steel import surpassed export by 210,000 tons in April, and become the net steel importer.
