Shougang in talks with Guiyang Special on acquisition

Mar.13 MetalBiz--Source noted that one of China's leading steel producers planed to acquire Guiyang Special Steel Co. Ltd, whose output is less than 1mln tons per year.
China encouraged consolidation among the country's steel makers to squeeze excess production amid the economic slowdown. The talk between Shougang and Changzhi Iron and Steel (Group) Co. Ltd., was going on smoothly.
Changzhi is located in the coal-rich northern Shanxi Province with capacity more than 3mln tons every year.
