China's Vanke says October sales up 95 pct on year

SHANGHAI, Nov 6 - China Vanke, the country's second-largest property developer, said on Friday its property sales in October soared 95 percent from a year earlier to 6.5 billion yuan ($952.2 million).

Vanke sold 608,000 square metres in October, up 31 percent on the year, the company said in a statement to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

For the first 10 months of the year, Vanke's total sales jumped 35.2 percent from a year earlier to 52.7 billion yuan, while the volume of space sold rose 27.2 percent to 5.7 million square metres.

The developer said it had acquired three new projects since its September report. ($1=6.826 Yuan)
