NEW YORK, Oct 30 - The euro extended losses against the dollar on Friday after steep gains the previous session, as caution returned after stocks failed to make further headway following a strong U.S. economic growth number for the third quarter.
The euro fell to session lows at $1.4785 and was last at $1.4791, down 0.3 percent. The single euro zone currency was down 1.4 percent on the week, on pace for its weakest weekly performance since mid-April.
The euro is being used as a proxy for risk appetite, gaining when economic data is positive or when stocks are down.
