Crown Australian casino revenue up in July-Oct

MELBOURNE, Oct 28 - Casino operator Crown Ltd <CWN.AX> said on Wednesday combined revenue from its Crown and Burswood casinos in Australia had risen in the first four months of this fiscal year.

Combined revenue from Crown's main gaming tables had grown 4 percent in July-October, while non-gaming revenue, including hotels, had grown 5 percent.

Turnover from high-rollers had increased by 5 percent, Chief Executive Rowen Craigie told shareholders at the annual meeting of Crown, controlled by James Packer.

The business environment in Macau, where Crown owns one-third of casino operator Melco Crown Entertainment <MPEL.O>, was improving, with revenue in the first quarter rising.

Melco Crown opened its City of Dreams resort in Macau earlier this year, including an 800-room hotel which opened in September.

"Melco Crown's other casino in Macau, the Asian VIP focused Altira Macau, has not seen any meaningful cannibalisation of its VIP volumes following the opening of City of Dreams," Craigie said.

Analysts are expecting 36 percent growth in net profit before one-offs to A$328.8 million this year, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
