TAIPEI, Oct 26 - Taiwan stocks opened 0.68 percent higher on Monday as upbeat results in the United States and better-than-expected exports data in September helped fuel gains in tech shares such as Mediatek.

The main TAIEX share index rose 51.91 points to 7,701.19 extending gains in the previous session.

Chip designer Mediatek rose 0.95 percent, while the semiconductor sub-index advanced 0.72 percent.
