JAKARTA, Oct 23 - Major Southeast Asian stock markets ended up on Friday, rebounding from a three-day sell off as investors responded to positive earnings from U.S. and Asian companies.

Indonesia's index <.JKSE> ended 1.43 percent higher, with coal miner Adaro Energy <ADRO.JK> jumping 6.58 percent, helped by a recommendation from Goldman Sachs, while top automotive distributor Astra International <ASII.JK> rose 4.15 percent.

The Jakarta market, which rebounded from falls earlier this week, saw gains accelerate in the last few minutes of trade.

Singapore <.FTSTI> rose 1.2 percent, helped by a 3.6 percent gain in commodities firm Noble Group <NOBG.SI>, which has just completed a $2.4 billion three-tranche financing, the largest syndicated loan in Asia ex-Australia so far this year. [ID:nHKG293756]

Noble said on Friday that coal sales at its subsidiary Gloucester Coal Ltd rose 5 percent in its latest quarter, showing signs of recovery.

"Sentiment is good, in view of the fact that it's better corporate earnings for many of the major companies," said Gabriel Yap, Senior Dealing Director, of DMG Securities in Singapore.

"Of course with a better positioning in the U.S. market, because the futures are up, things are looking good," he added.

Stock index futures pointed to a slightly higher open for Wall Street on Friday, as investors awaited results from software giant Microsoft <MSFT.O> and data on home sales.

At 0857 GMT, futures for the Dow Jones <DJc1>, S&P 500 <SPc1> and Nasdaq <NDc1> were between 0.1 to 0.3 percent higher.

Manila's main stock index <.PSI> added 1.53 percent, boosted by a 4.24 percent increase in mall-to banking group SM Investments Corp <SM.PS> and geothermal energy producer Energy Development Corp <EDC.PS>, which gained 2.56 percent.

Vietnam <.VNI> bucked the firmer regional trend by falling 1.35 percent, weighed down by confectionary maker Kinh Do Corp <KDC.HM>, which lost 5 percent, and dairy firm Vinamilk <VNM.HM>, shedding 0.58 percent.

In Malaysia, the main index <.KLSE> ended up 0.56 percent, with conglomerate Sime Darby <SIME.KL> up 2.37 percent and CIMB Group <CIMB.KL> up 1.43 percent.

Bangkok's market <.SETI> was closed for a holiday on Friday. It closed down 1.06 percent at 708.76 points on Thursday. ($1 = 9,485 rupiah) (Editing by Ed Davies) FACTORS TO WATCH: Malaysia's Maxis eyes $3.7 bln from IPO
