TAIPEI, Oct 22 - Taiwan stocks fell 0.11 percent on Thursday after losses on Wall Street, but tourism shares rose on news that Taiwan and China would station officials in each other's territories following a recent boom in two-way travel.
The main TAIEX share index opened 8.75 points lower at 7,692.75, extending losses from the previous session.
Leofoo Development rose 3.6 percent, with the tourism sub-index up 1.65 percent.
