WASHINGTON, Oct 16 - U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said on Friday there had been "dramatic improvement" in access to credit overall but worried that small businesses were still having problems borrowing.
"They're more dependent on banks. They're more dependent on credit cards, home equity loans, other types of things that got washed away by this crisis," Geithner said in a CNBC interview that was conducted on Thursday and will be shown on Friday.
The Obama administration is working on measures to help small businesses, which create many jobs, get easier access to credit but hasn't yet announced a program to do so.
