TAIPEI, Oct 16 - Taiwan auctioned T$40 billion ($1.2 billion) in two-year treasury bonds at a yield of 0.349 percent, the central bank said on Friday, higher than market expectations.
A Reuters poll of bond dealers had expected the yield to be between 0.19 and 0.24 percent. The bonds will be issued on Oct. 21.
In a similar auction in May 2007, the government sold two-year bonds at 1.932 percent.
