TAIPEI, Sept 16 - Taiwan stocks opened 0.94 percent higher on Wednesday, extending gains after hitting a 14-month closing high in the previous session, as upbeat U.S. retail sales data boosted export-reliant firms such as Hon Hai.
The main TAIEX share index opened 68.70 points up at 7,414.96.
Hon Hai, the world's largest electronics parts maker, rose 1.99 percent, with the electronics sub-index up 0.9 percent.
