HONG KONG, Sept 14 - Hong Kong's index of industrial production fell by 9.5 percent in the second quarter of 2009 compared with the same period last year, the Census and Statistics department said on Monday.
Textiles output was down 23.6 percent and the output of metal, computer, electronic and optical products, machinery and equipment fell by 12.9 percent.
Food, beverages and tobacco output decreased 0.5 percent while paper products, printing and reproduction of recorded media output was down 10.1 percent.
Production of apparel, except footwear, dropped 30.3 percent.
